Kolkata: The family members of a 27-year-old youth, who suffered critical injuries in his legs in a road accident, accused the SSKM Hospital of denying treatment to the patient.The victim identified as Enamul Mollah (27), a resident of Bhangar in South 24-Parganas had received critical injuries after being knocked down by a speeding bus on August 12. The patient was taken to the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital immediately after the accident. The victim’s family members said that during his treatment at CNMCH, the doctors told them that the patient required a plastic surgery. The patient was shifted to the SSKM Hospital in the night of August 13. The family members claimed that the accident victim was denied proper treatment by the hospital. They said that there was a delay in conducting the surgery. The family members are scared as the doctors told them that the infection might lead to gangrene. The victim’s family members also expressed their concern as Mollah is the only bread-earner for his family. They claimed that if the patient was given proper treatment on time, his leg injuries could have been cured. A 27-year-old youth who suffered severe injuries in his leg allegedly denied admission at the SSKM Hospital. Mollah’s family members have registered a complaint with the SSKM Hospital authorities in this regard.
