Beyond Good Evil 2 rumored to be funded as a Nintendo exclusive

first_imgAlright, kids, strap yourselves in for another rumor. This one is about the long-in-development-hell Beyond Good & Evil 2, which was announced ages ago in 2008. If this leak turns out to be true, then we may see Ubisoft’s upcoming action-adventure game come to life exclusively on Nintendo’s NX.This leak comes to us via Destructoid who received the rumor from Dual Pixels writer, Alexander Maier. Alexander obtained this information from a person named Geno who in the past has successfully leaked information on Microsoft’s IllumiRoom Project and the new Pokémon forums. Geno provided Maier with a reportedly lengthy document which he then gave to Destructoid so they could verify it.The document reveals that the working title of the game is Beyond Good & Evil 2: The Prejudices of Philosophers. The most interesting nugget of information here is that, much like Bayonetta 2, Nintendo has helped fund the development of the title to bring it to life. Nintendo funded the game in order to secure it as an exclusive on the company’s upcoming system, the codenamed Nintendo NX.Destructoid reached out to a second source who independently corroborated some of the bulletpoints of Geno’s document. While this doesn’t make the rumor 100% true, it does give it some weight.Nintendo’s biggest failing this generation has been with its lack of third party support for the Wii U console. Snatching up Beyond Good & Evil 2 can be seen as a move to get some non-Nintendo games on the NX. However, it’s also true that third party games typically do poorly on the Wii U so it’s possible that Beyond Good & Evil 2, and any other third party games, may suffer the same fate on the NX.As always, take this rumor with a grain of salt until we get official word from Nintendo or Ubisoft.last_img read more
