Well, ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit wanted to go a different route this morning on SportsCenter by revealing his top steals for this draft.Herbstreit went with players he believes will be around in the second round. The first prospect on his list is Deebo Samuel out of South Carolina.Samuel is one of the most intriguing wide receivers in his class. Although he doesn’t have the physical intangibles that other prospects have like D.K. Metcalf, his toughness separates himself from the group.Next up on Herbstreit’s list is TCU edge rusher L.J. Collier, who had 42 tackles and six sacks this past season. The belief is that he could become a three-down player in the NFL.The final potential steal that Herbstreit mentioned is Miles Sanders from Penn State. Despite having large shoes to fill in Happy Valley, the versatile tailback clearly impressed college football experts this past season. From 247Sports:“People say he was contained in some cases,” Kiper said. “You can’t run against a brick wall. That was a case where that Penn State offensive line didn’t always do their job moving defenders off the line. If you give this guy a little crack he can go the distance. Miles Sanders is a really good running back, who will be I think a second-round draft choice.”Regardless of where these steals land in the draft, Herbstreit thinks they’ll find a way to succeed. The NFL Draft officially begins on Thursday. Herbstreit will be part of ABC’s coverage on Thursday night.
